Warehouse, office and hardstand

Six post-tensioned slabs – each pour containing approximately 900 cubic metres of concrete and 5 km of high-tensile steel cable.

Purpose-built for VISA Global Logistics, this development provides approximately 6000 Sqm of warehousing, 300 Sqm of office space and 13,000 Sqm of containerised hardstand. It is situated in Melbourne’s southeast within the emerging Nexus Industrial Estate and forms part of Salta Properties’ Inland Port Strategy. 

Significant project milestones included the design and construction of the 13,000 square metres hardstand. This specialised container-rated pavement was comprised of 6 large individual post-tension slabs – each pour containing approximately 900 cubic metres of concrete and over 5 km of high-tensile steel cable.

The project was completed on time in October 2018, which was largely attributed to our strategic decision to provide an all-weather site by cement stabilising the existing sub-base and then capping with cement-treated crushed rock.
